Justice on the Jordan Staircase
Justice is center and focal statue as you climb the marble steps to the first landing and is surrounded by other statues and gold. The staircase was used by clergy and court to descend each year on January 6th to celebrate the "Blessing of the Waters". Procession continues outside to Neva River where hole was cut in the ice, water blessed and bottled for use in later baptisms.
