Half Timbered Houses and St George Fountain
We were in the medieval town of Rothenburg on the Rhine River in Germany. This fountain commemorates St. George slaying the dragon and is flanked by the medieval half-timbered houses typical of that time that allowed the people to dismantle the house and rebuild them easily by numbering the timbers. They used various type of mixtures that were available between the timbers. Close up of St. George to follow.
