Wall of White Shaman Shelter
This is the main wall of the White Shaman shelter located on the Pecos River just prior to its confluence with the Rio Grande. The pictographs in this shelter done in the Polychrome Pecos River Style represent "The Creation". Dr. Carolyn Boyd founder of the Shumula school is the expert in understanding the meaning of these pictographs and will be publishing her ground breaking work in 2011. This shelter may well be the "Rosetta Stone" so to speak in allowing us to finally open the door to understanding these pictographs painted by Pre History Meso-American, pre agriculture ancestors to which the current Huichol's and Aztecs belong. This is a power place for sure. Emile Abbott, MD
