Escort birds of Fate Bell
Number R pictograph F. Kirkland. This is a rare scene from the Fate Bell shelter and shows ten long necked birds escorting two flying shamans above them (two horizontal shaped shamans). Long necked birds esp. cranes are emblematic of death and by extension the journey to the spirit world. Here it is thought they represent them as guardian spirits during the trance voyage of the soul.
