Castle Peak & The Lighthouse
This is a closer perspective of the two formations "Castle Peak" on the left and "The Lighthouse" upper right in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The top portion of the lighthouse is a Triassic layer of hard sandstone that resists erosion better than other rocks and forms cliffs, capstones and pinnacles. Karen Slagle lives near here and knows more about the area than I.
