DESERT WILDLIFE
This capture with canon20 D at ISO100, 300mm, 1/400 sec to stop the action was processed in Aperture, CS3 and OnOneSoftware. This is a very tall century plant (blooms once in about 75 to 100 years, hence the name and then dies) that just blossomed with its yellow blooms for a few days to a week. These blooms attract all sort of bird, bees and insects to feed and I was fortunate to get this capture. Watched this plant for hours waiting for the right moment. The backlight precluded detail on the bee (upper left) or the hummingbird so my focus was on the flower as the main subject. Even in our desert landscape we have beauty. Your comments are welcome.
