Male Painted Bunting
Out looking for birds to photograph in the Texas Hill Country I spotted the Painted Bunting (Passerina ciris). No other bird looks this way. The males have distinctive blue head, red chest, greenish yellow back and the wings and tail are gray. These males are very territorial and will fight other males for their territory. Taken with Canon 20D, ISO 400, 300 mm Focal length, F/8 and 1/500 sec
