You looking at me?
Caught this artic fox looking back over its shoulder at us as if to say "Are you looking at me". Artic Foxes has a grey pelage in the summer that turns white for the winter. They are very small about the size of a cat, very fast and the thick insulating winter coat keeps it warm in the winter. They follow polar bear tracks and are often seen with the bear that do not seem to mind them. The foxes scavenge for carcasses of dead wildlife or the remains of bear kill that is their main sustenanc when they can not find lemmings (their prefered diet). They are very hard to spot and photograph as they run fast when approached. I was fortunate and got s
some captures of several different artic foxes. This was taken with the 20D at 300mm focal length, IS0200, 1/400 sec, at f/6.3 and 1+ exposure.
