Mother Protector an expression of love.
The love story of the polar bear mother and her cub is so strong that if a male get too close she will risk a fight with him and chase him away to protect her cub. In this shot I managed to also capture the young cub chasing behind the mother as she ran the male off. Taken at Gordon Point on Hudson Bay 11/20/2006 at 11 am with Canon 20 D, ISO400, F/8, 1/500 sec at 155 mm and 1+ exposure in RAW. Actually I put it in Nature and Landscape but it is a part of my mother and cub series.
