Natures Perfect Gift to our threatened specie
Natures perfect gift to the threatened Polar Bear and to this mother is her cub. In 1980 the average was three cubs/birth, in 1990 it was two cubs/birth and in 2006 the average was only one cub/birth due to the reduced feeding time caused by Global Warming since the mother will only implant as many eggs as there body weight will allow. One miss week of feeding is a 40 pound wt. loss. One half of cubs born will die in the first year. Polar bears are expected to be extinct in 50 to 75 year and maybe sooner so each cub is definitely one of Natures most perfect gift to the mother and to the world.
For the monthly theme. Taken on the Ice of Hudson Bay at Cape Churchill Nov 2006.
