Wagon Remains at Fort Meyers
Part of the remains at Fort Meyers not only include the ruins of the fort itself but other essentials of the day including this Wagon Remains that was used to haul needed supplies such as food and ammunition to the outpost. Although most of the needs to construct the fort were obtained locally ie (stones, other building supplies, water, local game for food) they were a military unit and needed gun powder, canned supplies, bullets, firearms, medicines, etc. This was the remaining frame of one of those transportation units so necessary to their efforts.
