Texas Mountain Laurel
Dermatophyllum secundiflorum is a Texas shrub with purple flower and orange red seeds. When the hunter gathers lived in this area for 10,000 years they used the seeds as hallucinogens which contained mescal. It was later replaced largely by peyote.
